Geocache Description:

Part 1 of the series: Places I Hid When I Was A Kid by Rocky Banks

This was the first of a series of caches in places where I remember playing as a kid. Many a weekend was spent playing hide and seek in the general area of the cache. My best buddies, who were identical twins, used to live in a nearby house and this cache is named after them. The title also refers to the "helm" of a ship and as you can see there are a lot of ships around. The trailhead is marked with a plaque "Ron Stokes Gem Trail" At one time Mr. Stokes had hidden several gem stones on either side of the path leading to the beach. but they are all gone now so do not trample the underbrush looking for them. The original cache was swept away in December 2012 by what is known as a 'king tide' - a higher than normal tide. The new posted coordinates will get you close to the cache which is on the hill-side of a deciduous tree at the edge of the forest. It is hung above shoulder level on a snapped-off twig. Please put it back the way you found it. Not much room for swag. You can still see the debris washed into the woods with the king tide. They told me the original was not really a multicache. I asked a reviewer to change it to a traditional cache, but that is not easily done, so I suggest one just looks for it and forgets about what type it is.
