Geocache Description:

Cache area is accesible with a vehicle depending on how you approach the area and the weather. I have driven over worse .

This is a resurrection of the original Fountain Cache. My research (depending on the source) says: "In the spring of 1876 the town of Fountain was settled. The settlers were hopng the railroad would go through the town. The Dakota Railroad located and built the line five miles south of the town. "
Another source says the town was founded in 1878. A spur was sent up to the town but the towns people moved to Brookings literally abandoning the town.

Please watch your footing and the foundations with basements that still exist. I do not know the acutal date of the towns last resident. Should be an easy cache for most.
