Tullaherin, Dungarvan, County Kilkenny.
Tullaherin Round Tower dates from the early part of the 9th century and was probably built by Cearbhall Mac Dunghal, King of Ossory from 845 to 855, as a defence against the Norsemen. The adjoining church, now in ruins, was built in the 11th or 12th century.
To the north of the site there are little mounds in a field indicating the site of a large village adjoining the round tower. A rural folk museum showing many household items for everyday use in days gone by is housed in the nearby, now unoccupied Parochial House.
The cache is a small round camouflaged tupperware box. Please replace exactly as found.
Note - the cache is NOT hidden in the wall.
