Looking for a Baby, pop bottle that is, a preform.
The Tree
We both started life, around the same time.
Now it has lost its, while I still have mine.
For it was lightning, which stopped the tree.
It could have, just as easily, been me.
For years it gave me shelter, from the rain.
Once I fell from it and suffered pain.
Its spreading limbs and leaves.
Gave shade, and home to a hive of bees.
It heard the laughter of my children.
Then, their offspring played there too.
With axe and saw, I felled the tree.
Whose leaves, had once sheltered me.
I miss the tree, what it meant to me.
And now, when I feel kind of lonely.
I build a fire, from its limbs.
Feel its warmth, once again.
