"Make no movement which is contrary to propriety". (Confucius)
The challenge of this series is to find the “Evil
Cacher”. So far there have been no known photographs or eye
witness accounts of the Cacher’s existence. However, there
have been many stories among the Gnomes that dwell in the woods of
the Cacher’s presence. Three in particular have been reported
to have personally seen, heard and even spoken to the Evil Cacher.
The only problem is getting them to admit to this. Your goal is to
find these illusive Gnomes and attempt to convince them to share
their stories. They are known as “Hear No Evil”,
“See No Evil” and “Speak No Evil”. If you
are very fortunate they may each share a piece of their story so
that after finding them all, you may achieve your goal and find the
“Evil Cacher”.
This Cache series was placed to introduce you (or for the local
Cachers, reintroduce you) to the Hormel Nature Center. During your
travels to find these Caches you will have hiked over most the
trails in this wonderful area. Don’t be surprised to walk
among herds of Deer, Wild Turkeys, Geese and various other species
of wildlife. If you’re lucky you may even meet the 29 year
old Red Tailed Hawk that is a resident of the Center.
The 507 acre Jay C. Hormel Nature Center was established in
1971. The center is just within the Austin city limits. It features
restored and remnant prairie, hardwood forests, wetlands, and
meandering streams. As you hike through the different trails (7
miles worth all total), there are Deer, Mink, Raccoons,
Salamanders, Birds and other native wildlife for your viewing
pleasure. The Watch Tower provides an excellent view of some of
these trails and prairies. Hope you enjoy our series. C&C.
