The Da Vinci Code Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

AnakeRose: me12 asked for an archive for someone who has no finds, you could have simply emailed me first to ask questions. I can't maintain this one anymore. Pregnancy has a way of making it difficult to get out sometimes. Sorry everyone.

Geocache Description:

Cache was entered into the 2009 BC Cache Blitz

The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates. To complete this 3 part cache, you will need some knowledge of The Da Vinci Code (either the book or the movie will be sufficient). I wouldn't reccommend walking between the stages because they are quite a distance apart, but feel free to drive, take a bus or bike to each stage. The final stage will be a bit of an uphil, but not too bad.

The tricky part will be finding the first stage. The rest is fairly easy.

To find the first stage you will need to decode this puzzle.

North - O, Draconian Devil! Oh, Lame Saint

West - So Dark the Con of Man

When you have decrypted the correct words, solve the puzzle and it will give the coordinates to the first stage. The first stage will lead you to the next and so on.

You will need to know this code:
A=1 B=2 C=3 D=4 and so on to Z=26

N 49 53.ABC W 119 24.DEF

A=Second letter of the fifth word divided by 3
B=First letter of the second word
C=First letter of the sixth word divided in half minus 1
D=Second letter of the first word
E=Third letter of the third word
F=Fourth letter of the fourth word - 3

Once you have the coordinate check it here. Geochecker.com

I tried very hard to fit each stage to the different parts of the story. The first stage has to do with where the Cryptex was hidden and the second stage is a word on the Cryptex and no that's not for power, it's for irrigation! The third stage was the most difficult to find a place suitable. Couldn't find anywhere that would fit Roslin, but on the way to the 'gate' you'll see the vague blade and chalice shapes in the barriers along the road. Masters loving art is the scenery around you, and it is under the starry skies!

Final Stage Parking:There is a small pullout on the downhill side of the road for a small car to fit. You may walk up from the bottom or park in the subdivision to the east and walk in for a less steep hike. Park is closed at 11pm and is not open to traffic in the winter.
