Geocache Description:

This is one of a series of caches placed in Hill Hook Local Nature Reserve.

Location and Access:

The LNR is located approximately 400 metres south of Blake Street Station in the northern suburbs of Sutton Coldfield. The main pedestrian access to the reserve is from Netherstone Grove and Bradgate Drive. Recommended parking is at N52 36.092 W001 50.709. Please park with consideration.

The LNR is an outstanding site of 7.5 hectares supporting a wide variety of habitats ranging from grassland, scrub and dry woodland to open water and marshy woodland. This provides habitats for a wide variety of plants and animals.

The site is owned by Birmingham City Council and managed jointly by them, Friends of Hill Hook Local Nature Reserve and The Wildlife Trust for Birmingham & the Black Country. The area around here is densely wooded and marshy. A lot of work to put down paths and bridges over the marshier areas has been done, but the path can be uneven and still gets very muddy even in dry weather so please wear suitable footwear. There are nettles and brambles on the edge of the path - long trousers are recommended. It is not suitable for buggies etc.

The cache is small click/lock box with log book and pencil and small swaps.
