Geocache Description:

My hills hoard the bright shillings of March
While the sun searches in every pocket.
They are my Alps and I have climbed the Matterhorn
With a sheaf of hay for three perishing calves
In the field under the Big Forth of Rocksavage.

Look up and say: "Who owns them hungry hills
That the water - hen and snip must have forsaken?
A poet? Then by heavens he must be poor."
(Patrick Kavanagh)

Another good hike in the Garden County which takes you to the South Prison, a unique corrie/moraine formation below Lugnaquilla. The route is via two quaintly named mountains, Carrawaystick and Corrigasleggaun. There are quite a few routes to both of these but I have suggested perhaps the most direct one, a relatively new route to Carrawaystick, to start you off. The coordinates above are only for the car park. You will need to solve the puzzle here to find the coordinates for Stage 1.
Please leave all info as you found it!

I have given this a high terrain rating because it is 15K in total with ascent of 800m and some of the route can be rough. The cache itself is placed in a small gully where coords can be iffy enough so when you figure out the coordinates for Stage 1 you can contact me for a spoiler picture of the cache location.
Most of this hike is easy but long and parts of it will take you to very remote but beautiful territory and people with vertigo should avoid it as there is one quite precipitous section.
Don't forget the camera! It would be very wise to approach the final cache from below its location.

Having found the cache, the shortest route back is the way I have brought you. There are a number of easier walks back, for example using the circular route in the map above, but you will need to make yourself familiar with the OSI map 56 to find all the forest tracks and while they are much easier, you will add at least 5K to the distance and more than likely end up at a different car park.
Please be clearly aware that anyone attempting this cache does so entirely at their own risk and that the cache owner has no liability of any sort and for any reason, accident or mishap. As this is a long mountain hike please be sure to bring warm and waterproof clothes and all the mapping, compass and GPS items that you can. Good hiking boots and gaiters essential in most weathers

Please be aware that cars parked in areas close to walking trails are vulnerable and they can be vandalised or stolen. Unfortunately this is an ongoing problem which is extremely difficult to solve. so there is a risk involved.

Please observe the country code to the best of your ability. Local landowners often generously allow access to upland areas across or through parts of their private property. Please, please be conscious of this and return the courtesy by keeping all gates closed, immediately and not on your way back!. Please use the gates where appropriate but if you have to climb over them then use the hinged side ONLY.
Please do not cause any damage of any sort to fences or barriers along the way.
