When Placing cache I had came several times to place and couldn't do to the rock stream being to high. Well today I succeeded. The stream was still roaring, but as I got to the rock stream I noticed a downed tree laying across up stream. It was under water the day before. I followed the trail on right side of stream till I got to tree. Them using a large stick which I left there, I walked across downed tree. It may not be here the next time someone comes. It's suppose to rain for days starting tonight.
When hiking the trail when water is down. Just after you cross the rock stream there will be a sign with The Homestead Trail on it. You can go either way but I would take the right one. Stay on the well marked path till you get close to the old homestead. Left trail will require a steep climb.
I found a micro cache in same area in December 2007 when I first started caching. At the time it was one of the highest in the area. LCT #5 - The Old Homestead GC11MAV. The homestead has changed a lot since I was here last.
