HISTORY
Veteran's Park, at one time, was the original site of barracks for
military students and trainees. It was established as a park in
1947 and was named in honor of veterans of all wars.
DESCRIPTION OF PARK
Veteran's Park, a 3-acre piece of land, is located on the corner of
Louisiana and 19th Sts. and is home to a beautiful rose garden. The
Eutin Rose Garden, named after the City of Lawrence's sister city
in Germany, is a popular attraction for both visitors and residents
in the summer. Full of flowers and trees, Veteran's Park is also
home to basketball and tennis courts, as well as playground
equipment and a large berm area for families to visit.
