This party is open to all geocachers: Puget Sounders and
visitors, WSGAers and COWWS and unaffiliated, old-timers and
newcomers, families, and hangers-on. So come picnic, visit friends
and meet some new folks, trade caching secrets, and enjoy the good
ole summertime! Rumor has it there are even three caches within
walking distance of the event….
Location:
Lake Boren Park, Newcastle. We've reserved the shelter next to
the tennis courts.
Date: Sunday, July 26, 2009
Time: 1:00 - 5:00 pm
GeoWoodstock Is
Coming!
GeoWoodstock
VIII is coming to Remlinger Farms in Carnation on July 3, 2010.
Next year is the 10th anniversary of geocaching and the Pacific
Northwest is Geocaching Central, so this will likely the largest
gathering of cachers ever! COWWS is hosting the main event, and
coreyandjoey will be here to tell us about it, answer questions,
take suggestions, sign up volunteers, and gratefully accept any
donations. WSGA will be supporting this effort in various ways -
GeoWoodstock is really a constellation of events and activities
that lasts several days - and we'll need everyone's help as we
partner with our mooey pals to make this the best geocaching
mega-event ever!
Camo Clinic
Canceled. Sorry, due to
conflicting schedules, we couldn't pull this together - watch for
another event in the fall. But we'll still have a great time
socializing and picnicking!
Potluck
Food & drink: We'll have hot dogs on the grill (plus
buns & fixin's) and cold drinks (juice, soda, water). This is a
potluck, so please bring a dish to share (side dish or dessert).
We'll update the menu as people respond. If you want another
protein (chicken, beef, fish) or something else to drink
(lemonade?), please bring it (no alcohol allowed).
Picnicking: We have the large shelter next to the tennis
courts, plus a huge lawn to spread out on, so bring a blanket, lawn
chairs, or whatever you'd like to picnic on.
RSVP: When you respond, please let us know how many to
expect and what you're bringing, and I'll post updates to the menu
and activities.
Volunteers needed! Thanks to WellJointed for being our
grillmaster and bringing his gas grill! Secondary grills are
welcome, as well. Help with setup and cleanup also appreciated - we
actually have the shelter reserved from 12:00 till 6:00 pm to allow
for that.
