Ovriokastro Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

EsteRiet: Today we were able to visit the excavation site of Ovriokastro.
You'll never believe it: the cache was still there.
We took it and archive the cache now because the excavations will take many years and the site will be inaccessible.
But we will put a new one nearby: Agia Varvara is coming soon.

Geocache Description:

!! new coordinates as from September 27th 2018 !!

Geocaching brings you to places you would not visit without it.

That's why we bring you to this place.

Enjoy the view but watch your steps. Not only for the rocks. Sheep were here before you did.

After finding the stash, you can continue the 'road' for about 300m until it stops at a little chapel. Behind that chapel is a nice and quiet beach.

To close the box : push firmly on the 4 corners until you hear the 'click'. These boxes were used by the US army so they must be able to keep a piece of paper dry....
Here is a movie showing how to close the box.

Small note on cache maintenance: There is a local cache guardian. Name and contact info on file with geocaching.com.
