This is a pleasant walk across the field following a footpath.
Frisby-on-the-Wreake was once a linear settlement with all side routes leading to the Mill.
Near the Bell Inn, dating from 1759, is a 13th century Cross. This was originally a Preaching Cross used by the monks of Launde Abbey. Later it became the Market Cross, where goods were sold, the surrounding area became known as Cheap End.
Take the footpath next to the Cross and continue across the field. The path passes the site where walkers found shards of Roman pottery. The reconstruction can be seen in the Jewry Wall Museum, Leicester.
