Cache: The container is a small clear lock n’ lock with log
book, pencil and some small swag. There is no FTF prize in this
one. The view is the prize. You will want to make sure you bring a
camera for this one.
Cache Location: The trail leading to the cache is behind the
Harpswell Town Office. You can park behind the building. There are
two trails that will take you to the cache. If you are in the
parking lot and facing the trees there is a well marked trail in
the left corner of the lot. This is the longest trail but it will
take you past Strawberry Creek Fairies Cache by two girls(GCPPEM).
The round trip is close to two miles.
There is a second trail near the left side of the lot just past
the propane tank. There is a small sign on the corner of the
building. You will walk up the path then up the road past the
transfer station. There is a small sign marking the entrance to the
Cliff Trail across the road. I have posted trail head coordinates
for this trail. The round trip is about 1.4 miles.
I have posted coordinates for the scenic spot overlooking Long
Reach. The cache is just past the scenic overlook off the trail.
Caution should be used with children. There is no rail and it is
more than a 150 foot fall from scenic overlook to the water below.
If you do bring children there are two designated areas one off
each trail (right and left behind town hall) where it is permitted
to build Fairy Houses. There are some wonderful architectural
examples along each trail.
I have posted a couple of pictures in the gallery if you
question whether you want to undertake the hike. There are some
uphill sections but overall the hike is only moderately strenuous.
If you go for this cache you should also try to find Strawberry
Creek Fairies Cache by two girls (GCPPEM) and Strawberry Creek by
hoamdezinahs (GC15EBX premium cache).
Good Luck!
