Geocache Description:

Take FR 409 off of Az Hwy 188. When you come to "Y" in the road go to the right. 2 w/d High clearance vehicle recommended.

Settlers in the Tonto Basin were complaining of Apache raids, so the 1st Cavalry at Fort McDowell sent out sixty troops under the command of General Ord (Mount Ord named after the General) to establish a satellite camp (Camp Reno), which is credited with curtailing the raids during their 3 year stay in the 1860's.
A rancher, Ransom B. Moore purchased the camp from Colonel Ridley and moved there in 1895, he died in 1904.
