A lovely woodland walk through a Christmas Tree Plantation
Did you ever wonder where your Christmas tree comes from? Chances are if you buy a real tree it might have come from this woodland. The tree trunks are thicker than you would expect at the base because the trees are cut off to give a Christmas Tree of the correct height, leaving the base to grow again. When we placed the cache some of the trees had little tags on them saying "Specially selected for..........." .and a store name.
If you drive along this road from October to December be prepared to meet enormous lorry loads of trees heading for the shops.
This is a short circular walk up the hill on a track between the trees. Suitable for dogs and kids. Lovely views across the valley as you walk up the hill.
The cache is hidden near the top of the walk. From here you have a view of a duck pond, with lots of water birds. The geese were very noisy when we hid the cache.
