Geocache Description:

Found this historical spot while doing cache maintenance. The Moland House. Home of Dr. Moland. This home was used as General George Washington's residence and army settlement in August of 1777. It was here that Washington met with all his generals (Greene, Pulaski, etc) plus members of the Congress (James Monroe, Alexander Hamilton, etc) to develop and institute the army War plans. It was the first time an overall plan to fight the British was discussed. Please click on the link www.moland.org for more detailed information. While you walk the grounds reading the information provided, please watch your step. Renovations to the grounds and house are ongoing. Also there is an archeological dig on the grounds. Please do not touch or walk in these area. You may bump into the offical tour guide while you are there, Mr. Murrie Gayman. He gave my wife, my boss, and I a wonderful tour of the area. A big thanks to Geocacher Sarutobi who offered and replaced the 2 damaged glass placard descriptions located near the general parking area. This cache has been placed with the permission of the Warwick Township Historical Society and Borough Historian. A special thanks to Calvin Uzelmeier, Ed Price, Daivid Shannon and Murrie Gayman.
