Some of Coffee and Cache's rellos have suggested that all
cachers are...well, marginally insane. This little cache isn't
likely to push you right over the edge, despite lots of bark, a
chalet built from a former lunatic asylum, and (on the day we
placed the cache) a plentiful supply of excitable canines.
Wattle Park, C & C's favourite local park and a haunt from
Coffee's long-ago childhood, was set up by the Hawthorn Tramways
Trust in 1916, as those who have caught our
Fish Out Of Water may recall. It became a popular destination
for a day trip, hence the olde worlde Chalet and bandstand.
The chalet was built in 1928. Building materials were recycled
from the Yarra Bend Lunatic Asylum (no, they don't come to take you
away any more, even if you're a cacher!) as well as an old cable
tram building.
The park retains much of its charm despite the drought, partly
thanks to an active Friends group.
At the waypoint, you should be looking at a large sign next to lots
of convenient parking.
In all cases, just count the number of letters in the indicated
