Geocache Description:

Cache is a decon just hanging around for a quick find. The hard part of this cache is sharing a good caching story with your log. You will need to bring something to write with as I could not find a small pen.

This cache is dedicated to a local cacher how loves to tell stories on his logs. So, please help keep Mike entertained. I will start the cache off with the story of how I met Mike.

I am a long distance truck driver who has logged a ton of miles on I-80, and a few caches along here too. Last summer, I get an e-mail from Mike inviting me to the Kearney's "Fifth Annual Geopicnic & Campfire". As it worked out, I would be passing though that weekend. Talking to my boss, I was able to leave early and make it to Kearny on time, well, sort of. Mike picked me up and with the typical cacher’s sense of time, we caches on the way out and made it for dinner.

The point of this story is that a local cacher was kind enough to invite a truck driving cacher to a local event, provides a ride and thus started a new friendship. This also provided me with my farthest from home event (800 miles, farther than Geowoodstock VI)

This weekend has spawned a few caches, this one included, here in Nebraska, in Iowa and at home in Utah. Being able to place faces with names of cachers whom I have crossed paths with added to the smallness of the caching world.

One more quick funny story that happened after I started this cache page. A local teacher had just completed a class on GPSr in the Classrooms, and started caching at home. I received an e-mail about one of my caches, and my coin collection. We hooked up to help him find my caches, and it turns out that he was my gym coach in my senior year, 30 years ago. Now talk about a small world. It was a high school friend who got me started in caching and now to meet my coach.

Please leave your stories so Mike and others can enjoy some of your caching experiences.
