The View from near one of the Stages/Clues
This is a replacement cache for 'Airys Legacy' (GC6338) by Nickers. Sadly the old cache was being 'robbed' by local kids of its contents so I decided to create a Multi instead. The reason was because I wanted to retain the history of the original cache which now will apply to Stage1/Clue1.
As I have stated this is a Multi cache with two stages/clues leading to the final. Each Stage/Clue will hold the co-ordinates of the next stage/clue or the final. Stage1/Clue 1 needs to be found as it holds a piece of information needed to find the final at Stage2/Clue2.
The Original Cache listing (The history bit)
"The cache is on Airy's meridian - which should line up with the cross hairs in his telescope at Greenwich. If you set your GPS to OSGB datum (but keep hours degrees minutes) you'll note that the cache should lie on the meridian. The placing of this cache was inspired by the large number of people who were confused as to why an OS "Meridian" marker did not lie on the WGS84 Meridian."
The Walk
The full walk is 8.6 miles although it can be broken down into smaller walks. The Western half of the route where the cache is hidden is 4.6 miles along a flattish Bridleway offering great views to the South (See attached map).
While on this section why not take in
Millennium Meander II (GCQ196)
Millennium Meander VI - Dead End (GC1RFC1)
More information can be found at Millennium Walk
The Cache
Stage 1/Clue 1 is a camouflaged 35 mm film pot sized container
Stage 2/Clue 2 is a camouflaged 35 mm film container
The cache is a camouflaged 1 litre clik 'n' clik container with a logbook, pen, swaps etc. Please ensure you hide it back where you found it with adequate cover.
Stealth is required as this path is much used by muggles and doggle handlers. You have a good view up and down the path at all stages, but in turn you too can be seen.
