Geocache Description:

A nice, quiet 2 mile (round trip) hike through the woods beginning in an undeveloped, and mostly unknown county park.

Point Max Redux was placed near Rimrock County Park after the original Point Max (on the Nisqually River) was rendered inaccessabile.

Rimrock County Park is an undeveloped park. There is no formal parking area or any bathroom facilites. This is a dog friendly cache but I don't think it would be great for little children. The trail has some steep and muddy parts. The area has quite a bit of wildlife. Keep your ears and eyes open. You might be surprised at what you see.

You can park at N46.53.184 x W122.15.782. The trail starts by the large cement block and goes East. You will first need to head for N46.53.343 x W122.15.345. From that point, follow the trail to THE TURN at N46.53.638 x W122.15.077.

THE TURN is very important to pay attention to. If you miss the turn the trail will take you onto land owned and used by a rifle club and uncomfortably near their shooting range. If you pay attention to the turn (TURN RIGHT or SW) the trail will take you the last .17 miles to the cache.

The cache spot is a nice place to sit and watch the hawks soar. The actual cache is locate about 20 feet behind the sitting spot, hidden under some fallen trees. The cache container is a 2 quart rubbermaid container. The cache is on level ground. No scampering on the steep hill is required. We tried to make the cache pretty easy to find. The spot is remote enough and we don't want to cause geothrashing.

Congratulations to the Mt. Tahoma Geocaching Disorganization for the FTF (First to Find!!

The sitting place requires about 50 feet of easy bushwhacking and should be pretty easy to figure out..
