How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Located in the isolated Argyle park subdivision, this has limited, but public access. While it is near private property, I am the owner, and you don't need to leave the public area. This area is often used by (dog) walkers and ATV's in the summer and skidoos in the winter.

This is my first hide, and as such I am a student of geocaching. When you find this cache, I would like for you to write a geocaching tip that would be useful to newbies. Obviously, this is not required to log the find, but your insights may be valuable to other geocachers. Of particular interest to me is information on how to solve mystery cache puzzles, what is a good beginner's GPS, or how to find those better hidden caches.

The container has room for a logbook, pencil, and some swag. There is no FTF prize other than a clean logbook. We are seeding with a geocoin that is just passing through, and a brand new travel bug. This is the travel bug that my son won at the WWFM Peanut Scramble.

There is a pencil included - it is not swag - but good cachers generally bring their own writing sticks.

BTW, if you meet a black lab, she's noisy, but harmless. Her name is Mabel and is a noted travel bug. If you would like to meet her, knock on our door, and if we are home, we'll see if we can introduce you.
