You may claim a happy face on this cache as it has been moved a
great distance from the original. There is no FTF prize in this
cache.
This is a series of 6 caches that will tell you about the origin
of some Mother Goose Rhymes/Riddles that many of us may have grown
up with. You will need to collect clues in each of the caches in
order to do the final.
There is a theory that Little Boy Blue represents Cardinal
Thomas Wolsey (1475 - 1530). He was an extremely rich, arrogant
(loved to blow his own horn) man who had many enemies at court and
was not popular with the English people. He was often referred to
as the "boy bachelor" as he received his law degree from Oxford at
ripe old age of 15 years.
Export taxes on wool made England very prosperous, augmenting
both the treasury of King Henry VIII and the assets of Cardinal
Wolsey. The Little Boy Blue rhyme may have been a secret message of
dissent in regards to his greed. To criticize openly could have led
to imprisonment, forfeiture of property or even death.
