Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Hökmarksberget with it's 99 meters above sea level is the only
opportunity you get of a vast scenic view of forests and lakes as
you drive between Skellefteå and Umeå along the E4.
It's at it's greatest splendor in the autumn off course but also
pleasant during other seasons to.
The cache is found next to the "resting spot / highway picninc
area" just south of the scenic bit, easiest accessed when driving
from south. It has tables under shading trees EDIT but *no* toilets
any longer due to last years vandalisation.
There you also can find some remains of a house where the shoemaker
Fredrik Hedberg lived about 1870. And Carl von Linné passed by on
the 13th of June 1732 and mentioned it in his diary.
If I'd have a spoiler image - it would really be a
spoiler image.
Watch out for tetanus! Be careful, you do not need to poke around
that much :-)
This cache will not be possible to log during the snowy
season.
Foreigners do not hesitate! The gate is there due to the moose
fence, it does not indicate private property, you can pass through
it without tresspassing.
