Geocache Description:

Cache placed near crash site on Round Hill, the perimeter of which is extremely boggy.

The Blackburn Botha was notoriously under powered and had a finicky fuel system making it an unpopular plane for pilots of the time. W5103 was on a ferrying mission from Sherburn-in-Elmet to Hawarden when it crashed on 10th December 1941. It is believed the pilot of the fully loaded and under powered Botha had miscalculated his position and descended too early, probably due to a considerable westerly wind on the day.

This cache was placed as part of a series also including:
Far Black Clough
White Stones
Defiant N3378
Wellington R1011
