Geocache Description:

A Traditional cache set on the hill overlooking Henley in Arden

Located on a natural ridge to the east of Henley-in-Arden, the earthworks are all that remain of the former Norman Motte and Bailey castle.

The castle was founded during the reign of Henry II by Thurstan de Montford and was demolished during the wars of the Roses

The site was investigated in 2001 by the archaeologists of Channel 4's Time Team

Parking is possible in the centre of Henley itself and the public footpath (part of the Heart of England Way) starts at the end of Beaudesert Lane N52 17.509 W001 46.612
