The venue is Sutton Park – A great place to visit at any time of
year, and on this occasion where we can meet friends old and new in
what is hoped will be glorious June sunshine. As usual there will
be plenty of Geochat and banter, not to mention the TB and Coin
swap box.
We are asking people to bring a picnic lunch although the Event
is very close to the Park Café and Pub, so if you don’t fancy the
sandwiches you have brought, there will be plenty of opportunities
for you to purchase something there. The Event will start at 12
(noon)
As it is also Father’s Day (thought it was Father’s Day every
day myself
) it would be lovely if we could
make this a family day out too, where we can thank our Geokids
for being the very handy camouflage for our activities and for
getting into those small places only Geokids can!- Games and
activities are being brought along so if anyone fancies a
Rounders Match, a kick about, Frisbee etc, they will be
there.
A couple of gazebos will be on site but we have been asked by
Birmingham City Council not to bring trestle tables and the like
although the usual folding chairs etc are fine.
Please also note the following information:
Entrance fees to the Park apply after 11am at £1.50 per vehicle
(anyone arriving prior to then, entrance is free)
Sale of alcohol is prohibited
No BBQs, campfires or naked flames
No performance of live music
No performance of dance or plays
Please do not cause nuisance to local residents or other Park
users
Clean and tidy away at the end of the Event
Persons responsible for any damage will be held liable
Special thanks go to Sarah Taylor and Robin Bryan of Birmingham
City Council Parks and Nature Conservation for allowing this Event
to be held here
Car Parks within Sutton Park are very close to the Event Site
and the field is fairly flat and even but can get a bit damp after
heavy rain
Public Transport users can walk from Sutton Town Centre along Park
Road in to Town Gate
