Geocache Description:

During the course of a 1.5 mile hike, I found this memorial by mistake, thinking it was related to the Nike Missile site nearby. Well, there's no Cold War history here, but it's an area worth visiting with a beautiful vista.

The Children’s Memorial Grove, located upon a hill overlooking the San Francisco Bay, was dedicated in order to pay honor to and remember the innocents tragically lost before their time. An annual memorial service is held here which includes planting an oak tree and dedicating a permanent plaque upon the large stone Circle of Remembrance with the names of children who died due to violent crimes in the previous year.
