Geocache Description:

Park at the Brunswick Nature Center or in the adjacent shopping center parking lot.

This fourteen acres of land was never cleared for farming and many trees appear to be 150 years old or older. It was saved from becoming developed as a strip of homes and is now protected forever under The Conservation Easement.

What can be found here?
Five species of woodpeckers have been spotted at the Peninsula: Flickers, Hairy, Downy, Red Bellied and Pileated.

Three species of squirrels: Grey, Fox and Red squirrels.

Other wildlife seen here are deer, fox, coyote, raccoons, and geese.

A working hive of bees has also been established behind the Nature Center.

Trees include Maples, Ash, Beech, Tulip, Poplar, Hornbeam (Ironwood), Hop Hornbeam, Cucumber Magnolias, and both Red and White Oak.

Many varieties of spring wildflowers including May Apple, Spring Beauties, Trout Lily, Trillium, Jack in the Pulpit, Hepatica, Rue-anemone, Marsh Marigolds, Dutchman's-breeches, Cut-leaved toothwort, Colt's-foot and others.

You’re looking for a medium sized camouflaged container with room for small trade items. Cache is about 8-10 feet off the trail.
Please be respectful of this environment. No bushwacking please. Off trail hiking is damaging to the environment and prohibited.

Visit the Nature Center to learn more about wildlife and see the exhibits. Restrooms and water are available. CITO and drop the trash in the can at the Nature Center. Thanks to the Brunswick Parks & Recreation Department for allowing the use of this park for educational caching
