Geocache Description:

Cache is located in a new hiking trail that follows the Chippewa River. Part of the fantastic Mt Pleasant Parks and Trails system. BRAND NEW paved trail goes within 20-25 feet of cache.

Update: 11/0913. The cache was moved to a new spot by a fellow cacher because he/she indicated the coordinates were off. I emailed the person that posted about moving it asking them to replace it where it was originally next to the Godfather Tree. This is the 2nd time this has happened. The 1st it happened we stumbled across the cache by accident. It was placed in a hollow log about 50 yards past the cache on the south side of the paved path. (about 10 yards off the asphalt.
Since we live in Grand Rapids, I will get back there as soon as I can to hunt it down and replace it back in the original spot if I can find it. Or we may just place a new cache in its place.
I'm not sure why someone (the non-owner) would want to move a cache but as you can see, it has totally messed up everything.
Until then, enjoy this magnificent tree and park.
Note: the pictures are not meant to place you near the cache. They are to show there is a place to stop and have a picnic lunch and enjoy the scenery.

Update 3-17-12 St Patrick's Day. Went to the cache on a beautiful day: sunny and in the 80's. Cache is alive and well. Found some new swag since last visit. Park and trail system has been extended and upgraded with benches and viewing platforms. Some might even call it Glam-caching. :)

UPDATE: Cache has been checked and dried out with new logbook. Someone took it upon themselves to move the cache to higher ground. Tho it was not placed anywhere near the tree. Thank you. I just wish it would have been noted. Anyway, we found it and replaced it very near the Godfather tree only a little higher off the ground to keep it dry in the future. Enjoy.

To start this cache off, we've placed an ammo box stuffed full including the TUT Divot Tool TB, Cujo Dog Tag TB, and the Rose Geocoin. Other items include an Allegra giant pen and holder, Michigan Pin, Mini Nutcracker, lanyard, an Honor stone, Ski Bum pin, Daisy buttons, Ice Cream keychain, a bracelet, and a Dig Em small flashlight.

This cache is located in a very nice park. Picnic tables, giant playground equipment, and a very large covered picnic area in case it rains. Nice views of the Chippewa River. The trail system connects to rest of the parks and trails by following the paved trail outside the east entrance to the park.

There is a nice sized parking area close to the trail head. The coordinates are N 43 35.724 W 084.47.614

Stop by, have a picnic, take a breather, and find the Godfather cache.

BONUS!!! This cache now has a newly asphalted walk way that goes all the way to the cache. This will help tremendously with wheelchairs and strollers.

Special Note:
A few people have reported not being able to find the cache suspecting it was not there anymore.
Mrs JimmyLeggs and I went to the cache on 5-22-2010 and it is still there in its original spot.
