Access to the Feversham Gorge is at the Madeleine Graydon
Memorial Conservation Area, which is located on Grey Road 2 just
south of Feversham.
This important conservation area is 14 hectares (35 acres) in
size. It includes vertical limestone walls that tower 24.4 meters
(80 feet) over the crystal clear Beaver river below, and a table
land above the gorge consisting of mixed coniferous and deciduous
trees. The Beaver River is spring-fed, and a natural haven for
Brook Trout. The cliffs are a botanist's paradise, being home to a
number of rare ferns, mosses and liverworts. For more information,
please visit Grey-Sauble Conservation Area: Feversham Gorge.
The hiking trail is 1.5 km in length (see map). This strenuous trail includes lookout
stations, a stairway, and cold water springs emerging and cascading
into the gorge at various points along the trail.
When you are searching for this cache, keep in mind that it is
NOT located right at the brink. It is hidden in a safe, easy to
access location 5-10 metres back from the edge of the cliff. Please
be careful, and remember to practise Cache In, Trash Out.
