Dead Men Tell No Tales Traditional Cache
lanidrax2: After finally checking on this cache I have decided to archive it and hide a new cache with a similar name (Dead Men Tell No Tales #2) near by. This cache was actually to easy for muggles to find, particularly muggles of the mushroom variety, and so rather than just replace it I have put another one, although harder, in the general area. Thanx to all those intrepid cachers who took the time and effort to enjoy "Dead Men Tell No Tales". It was my first cache and it is sad to see it go. [:(] R.I.P.

Easy to get in the general vicinity, but hard to get the last 100
ft, but easy to find when you do get to it.
This is the first of the "Legend of Captain Black Bones Del Gato"
series of caches. Back in 1694 the pirate ship Pink Barnacle was
run aground on the north spit of what would become Coos Bay,
Oregon. It was commanded by the worse (inept), most bloody (he
banged his shins alot and cut himself shaving), ruthless (his first
wife Ruth left him for a bartender named Moe down in Barbados),
brigand, the high seas had ever known. And ontop of all that, he
was really ugly.
After the ship wrecked pirates crawled ashore with what booty they
could haul, they set to fighting and bickering about what to do and
where to go. They couldn't agree on anything so Captain Black Bones
decided (after all, he Was the Captain) to give each scurvey dog
his fair share of the booty and they could each go their own
way.
One of the common sea-scurvey-dog-pirate-guys (a small Frenchman by
the name of Gauno LaTrene) lit out to the east (go figure, he was
on the beach) to make his way over the dunes to safer havens.
Everything was just going peachy until some blood-thirsty indians
spotted him and the chase was on! He made it to a place of
concealment where he concealed his booty. Then he made a break for
it with the blood-thirsty savages in hot pursuit. They made it, he
didn't. So the booty is still there to be discovered by you.
This is a Pirate Booty cache, so it contains, you guessed it,
Pirate Booty! So if you bring trade items make sure they are of the
Booty Kind. Or the curse of Guano LaTrene will haunt you for the
rest of your miserable life! Arrrgh!
