Geocache Description:

The eagles nest has fallen with only a small portion remaining in the tree. There is a big pile of sticks on the ground. The eagles have built a new nest. Look east across the bay.

At this cache location you will get a close-up view of the eagle's nest in Ritter Farm Park. The first 10 finders will get a commemorative coin with an eagle on it.

This pair of eagles has been nesting here for a few years. Check out the notes below before you go. Please be respectful of their home. Bring your camera for lots of wildlife photo ops and post some pictures.

On the way into the park, stop at the Photo Op location and get a good view of the nest. Look to the NW. Don't stay here to long there is no parking here. Continue to the parking lot past the silo.

Head for the trail that starts on the north side of the Ed Maco Environmental Learning Center. Stay on this trail (and stay to the left) until you are about 150 feet from the cache.

The cache is hanging head high on a red pine tree. Once you have found the cache, look up and to the south and you will see the eagles nest. For another view, walk down to the lake shore and about 30 feet south and you will be right under the nest.

You can also get to this cache with a canoe or kayak. The water may not be deep enough for a motor boat.
