35mm container hidden near a historical area. I have hidden the cache a little better to add a bit of a challenge. Please please please be careful and don't drop it or you will have to jump in and get it.
Watch out for local hunters during season.
The Battle of San Jacinto happened on April 21, 1836. It involved the Texan general Sam Houston and the Mexican general Santa Anna. It was a crucial battle during the Texas Revolution, and resulted in the capture of Santa Anna.
In the end, over 700 Mexicans died and only a handful of Texan soldiers. During this battle the famous cry "Remember the Alamo" was used.
This is not the place that battle happened, but everytime I drive through, I think of that battle (I'm a native Texan).
It looks like this area has seen better times. There's a nice park for camping and a small pavilion, but I am not sure their use or how often they are used. In the immediate vacinity, there are several old churches, which are really neat.
Beware of mosquitoes, they can get quite bad at times. Also, the tree coverage can wreak havoc on getting a good reading, but the clue should give it away.
