Geocache Description:

This is a smaller sized cache located on the grounds of the Delaware Historical Society right outside of the Delaware History Museum. (Coordinates are averaged.) Cache contents: FTF Prize, Punch Cards, Hole Punch, Log Book and Pen.

Why the Delaware History Museum? This cache relates to an exhibit currently running at the Delaware History Museum (June 4th-November 28th, 2009) called Whales, Weirs and Waterfowl: Delawareans Working on the Water. The history of these waterways and the people they’ve impacted is an incredibly important one to Delaware history. This was originally one of five caches hidden throughout the state of Delaware related to this exhibition. Now there are 3.

There are punch cards and unique hole punches in each cache box. If you find (and punch your card at) all three caches, you’ll receive 2 for 1 admission to the Delaware History Museum and be entered into a drawing for a free six month family membership. There will be six drawings total (1 each month for the run of the exhibit). Punch cards are first come, first served. They will not be replaced once they are all gone.

There is a first to find prize in this cache. (The FTF prize is the same in all 5 caches). There are no trade-items in this cache but if you’d like to leave something it would be great to get a trade started!

Hours for the Delaware History Museum are Wed-Friday 11:00-4:00 and Saturday 10:00-4:00. Hint: If you find this cache LAST you can use your 2 for 1 admission on the same day. This cache is located outside and there is no admission fee required to find the cache. Admission is required to visit the museum.

This cache is placed on private property with the kind permission of the Delaware Historical Society. Please treat the area with the respect it deserves. It should be fairly easy to locate. The cache is accessible at all hours, but we don’t recommend coming after dark.
