Water Tower
Place…
in
Genoa?
Ok, so
this isn’t anything like Water Tower Place in Chicago.
It’s far from it. Genoa is however an award winning rural
community in the heart of Illinois' historic and beautiful
Kishwaukee River Valley. The business district of Genoa is located
generally along Main Street (Route 72), and consists primarily of
small retail shops, restaurants and service establishments to serve
the residential and agricultural community. Visit the shops and
restaurants, including a Victorian tea room and an award-winning
winery.
The City
encompasses an area of approximately 2.5 square miles and as an
older, well-established residential community; the City retains
characteristics of a rural environment as well as a community
subject to new residential and commercial growth. Genoa's
history can be explored at the Kishwaukee Valley Heritage Museum
housed in the old Milwaukee Railroad depot west of town.
Come visit the downtown
area than stop out for our
version of Water
Tower Place, cache included. Please bring your own pencil/pen. In
the cache container we put a couple of small collector items. This
area should be muggle free most of the time. Please put cache
back exactly as found. The orange and blue are the Genoa High School Colors.
