Geocache Description:

This is a small cache in a slightly rough area. Watch out for the Posion Ivy.

On 26 February 1910, the Old Red Bridge at Jones Crossing burned under suspicious circumstances. Within a week it was decided that a new bridge needed to be constructed.

The Old Iron Bridge a.k.a. the Green Bridge (to the locals) was built by the Canton Bridge Co Builders, Canton Ohio in September 1910 across the Souhegan River in Milford NH. At that time, Harry A Wilkins, Oliver H Foster, and William S Keith were the Selectmen of the Town. John W Storrs was the Consulting Engineer for the project.

The Green Bridge is an historic through truss type iron bridge that has been closed to traffic for a number of years. This bridge was made obsolete with the construction in the 1990s of the new (and wider) Veterans' Memorial Bridge to the east. Luckily for us, the Green Bridge was not demolished , instead they left it for future generations to use as a foot bridge.

Please be carefull to put this cache back where you find it.

Bring a fishing pole if you have the time. The locals say this area is a good fishing spot.

FTF goes to shadrach. (Wow, can't believe within a half hour of listing.)
