Geocache Description:

Kokura Castle was construction of a castle began in 1602 and needed time of about 7 years,By Tadaoki Hosokawa who entered the country by the service of the Sekigahara battle.
Bat burnt down by an internal disturbance in 1866.
The castle tower was rebuilt in 1959 by civic desire.

小倉城は関ヶ原合戦の功労で入国した細川忠興によって1602年に本格的に築城が始まり約七年の歳月を要しました。
幕末期になると小倉は長州藩を攻める第一線基地となり、その中で小倉と熊本藩は勇敢に戦いましたが、ついに1866年、自ら小倉城に火を放って戦線を後退せざるをえませんでした。
1959年市民の熱望によって天守閣が再建されました。
