Geocache Description:

WE ARE VERY SORRY TO SAY THAT "LANDMEER", "TEAM PEZ", and "FALSCHER FUNER" HAVE GONE MISSING. :(

This cache came from “Doc 29’s GRAND Event” (GC1R2WE) celebrating his 1000th find. It was our drawing prize AND our first hide. This is the first cache in this State Park.
Park hours: 4:00 am – 10:30 pm.

For those not familiar with the area, you need to know that the bridge on Highway 78 at Coppock, Iowa is under construction. Coming from the east on 78 will necessitate going north or south.

Our FTF is Christmas in June – a Walmart gift card. It is also stocked with other items thanks to Digger9, the organizer of the event – thanks!
There are park maps as well. Please let us know if it needs a new supply.
CONGRATULATIONS TO "DURANGO DALE & P" FOR FTF!

The park has been draining the lake and it is an interesting sight. We kept cache family friendly so all will enjoy it. There is parking just before the mowed trail at the swim/ new lodge area or just beyond the trail at a picnic area. The cache is just off of the trail. Minimal bushwhacking.
If you continue on for a short walk, you will come out at the camping area and also see the very nice cabins available.

The lake is being drawn down for a 3-year renovation project starting 11/10/08. This project will impact all water based recreation for the next 3 years until the project is completed and the lake is allowed to return to normal pool level. The campground, cabins, lodge and picnic shelters will be open and available for use. For updated information please contact the park office at 319-697-2323.

The cache has been placed with permission of the park ranger.
