Geocache Description:

Discover a little known part of Erindale park

This cache was placed when Fallen Beast (GCW6NK) was washed away. I explored a bit and found a slightly more remote part of the park.

Erindale Park is the largest park in Mississauga, and is over 220 acres. From 1902-1954, the entire area was flooded behind a hydroelectric dam. See more history of the park here.

The Erindale Park parking lot entrance is on the North side of Dundas, just East of Mississauga Road. From the parking lot (N43 32.722 W79 39.387), the trailhead starts at N43 32.592 W79 39.484. There is an alternate trailhead at N43 32.658 W79 39.323 that offers a shorter walk, but parking there is limited. From either access point, there is a defined path, although since this area is not well used, the path is very overgrown in summer months.
Please rehide the cache so it's not visible.

The trail and cache site are near the Credit River. This is a dangerous river, especially after rainfall. Use appropriate caution. Respect the no trespassing signs south of the cache site.
