Capricorn Coast Challenge No.4
This is No.4 in a series of location challenging caches on the Capricorn Coast.
Girt Island is about 2 Km SE of the Pumpkin Creek boat ramp at Keppel Sands. This is probably the best place to start. You will need to glance at the tide chart if going by sea.
If going by sandbar you MUST CLOSELY STUDY the TIDECHART. To be able to make the crossing you need a low of 0.5 m or less ( that's half a metre ) and you will only have about ONE hour before and after the low tide to complete the trip out and back. But it is possible !!!! Our Bushwalking Club took about 70 people out there on one trip.
Fortunately we have made the cache easy to find so the search shouldn't take too long. Lots of other islands can be seen on the way.
