Geocache Description:

Way to Jinding

Emei Shan (named so because it is said to resemble a woman's eyebrow) is one of the four sacred buddhist mountains of China. It provides excellent trekking paths and lots of things to see. The Emei area was made one of UNESCO's world heritage sites in 1996.

The cache is located about half way on the trail from Wuxiangang to Leidonping village. The cache site is about 1600m from the sea level. The cache box itself is a quite big lock 'n lock style container with plenty of room for geocoins etc.

Note that the cache site is full of potential hides and the satellite reception isn't exactly great due to the surrounding cliffs, so I suggest you download the spoiler pictures here and here and have prints with you when you go searching. The bamboo stick marks the spot and no the stick is not there anymore.

The reason it's hidden there and not some nice and easy place along the trail is that the Emei area is full of curious monkeys and people and I don't want to replace the cache 4 times a year . The cache site is not on the monkey zones and I'm pretty sure no random muggle is going to wander in to the location of the cache.

The terrain rating of 4 reflects the long hike you're going to have to do and partly the difficulty of reaching the cache (no climbing equipment needed though). When searching be really carefull while climbing on the rocks. When wet they are slippery as ice and you could really hurt yourself.
