j4pos: Shutting this one down as the lettering is fading and difficult to read and we can't really see the responsible authorities repainting them.

Watchout for a replacement in the near future...

How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

This is a Weymouth beach/harbour based one stage multi. You are searching for a micro containing just a log sheet.

So as to not offend anyone, the following has been written tongue-in-cheek and is not to be taken too seriously.....

It has come to our notice that the local geocaching community, ourselves included, need extra practice at counting, so we have decided to give you extra homework in a short series of caches placed along Weymouth Seafront. There may be an examination later in the year to check that you have made an improvement!

This is the first cache to get your brain working. So, Abacus at the ready and off you go! Good luck,

The above coordinates take you to an object and to find the final location you will need to do some counting of letters and numbers on the inscription written on said object.

Count the number of -
E's and call this a
S's and call this b
A's and call this c
C's and call this d
N's and call this e
H's and call this f
R's and call this g
L's and call this h
Y's and call this j
The sum total of all the individual digits on the inscription and call this i

Final location is at
N 50 36.uvw
W 002

u = (i+e)/g
v = a-b-c
w = i-(a+h)/g
x = (i+a+f)/d
y = (e+f)/h
z = j+d

Checksum - sum total of uvwxyz is 30

Please note that the final location is a high muggle area.

The next cache in the series will follow shortly when our brains have had a chance to recover from setting this one.
