The route is fairly short up to this boulder - yet another example of an erratic left by the receding glaciers many years ago.
It is about a mile round trip and a wee climb to the 300m line but gives superb views of the surrounding hills.
There is a large cark park at Glen Artney church. Cross over the road and go through the wooden gate and follow the track up past the disused buildings of Auchnashelloch. From here you are as well just following the arrow until the boulder comes into sight.
When the cache was placed there were lots of lapwings (peewits) and curlews nesting so I got a very noisy reception.
Plenty of other wildlife in abundance and lots of flowers in the fields.
If you go early morning or later in the afternoon, there is always a good chance of seeing Red Kites anywhere in Glen Artney, soaring high in the sky.
There's lots of sheep around on this part of the hill so please keep dogs under control.
**** congratulations to the Swedish Cachers on their FTF*****
