Geocache Description:

The cache is located off the Tipton County Museum nature trail. Parking available at N 35° 33.364' W089° 39.664'. While undergrowth at the site is relatively light, foliage and weather will affect GPS accuracy. The sign at the start of the trail states it is open from 9am – dusk, but museum staff stated it is generally used from dawn to dusk, 7 days a week. The container is an ammo can filled with kid-friendly swag.

NOTE: As of 19 Aug 2017, the hint has changed. The cache is located off of a trail that loops, so there are two ways to approach GZ. However, if you stay on the trail, it will bring you within 50'-60' of the container before you have to start some light bushwhacking. I have secured the container with a bike cable so hopefully it will not wander off again. Please hide it as well as you found it. Also the coordinates are still good. My Garmin 64st showed I was within 9'-12' of GZ with an accuracy of 12'.

While hunting this cache please take a few minutes to visit the museum which includes a Veteran’s Memorial, nature center, military history display and wetland study area. The museum is open:

Tuesday – Friday: 9 am – 5 pm
Saturday: 9 am – 3 pm
Sunday and Monday: Closed

Admission to the museum is free.

Coordinates are based on the averaging of 500 readings with an estimated accuracy of 11ft. Please let me know if you think the coordinates are too far off, although I may have to wait until Fall to get a more accurate reading. The best thing to do is to let your GPS settle down and think like a cacher!

While I have highlighted all the usual attributes you would expect to find in a wooded area, the undergrowth is light and the cache is close enough to the trail to make it relatively "kid friendly." So, bring them along!

As this is my first cache, I would appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have. Happy hunting!
