Geocache Description:

Cache is on Forest Service land. Feel free to explore the nearby structures, but please respect any property belonging to the occasional sheepherder who may be camped here while running sheep in the area.

A co-worker and I discovered this place in 1996 while doing work for the Forest Service. This was a permanent camp for sheepherders built on the edge of a large meadow. The only sure indicator of the age is 1945, the date of a large brick cooking oven inside one of the structures. Other features include two separate living quarters, a shower house next to a water tower, and a cold-storage building built over a spring, complete with thick, insulated walls and doors.

The meadow is a real beauty, surrounded by low ridges covered with Ponderosa and Jeffery pines.

Cache is a large Tupperware covered in duct tape.
