Geocache Description:

A cache on our favorite beach in the Lakes Area: Celito Beach.
You can get there by 2 wd on a short gravel road by taking the Sandbar turnoff just past the Smiths Lake turnoff when heading north on the Lakesway.

A car park at the beach? What does it all mean?

The cache is owned by my 8 year old who's favorite pastime is collecting toy cars. Yes, you guessed it, he's a boy.

There are two reasons for placing the cache here:
1) We have been going to Smiths Lake for the last 6 years, staying at our holiday home. Celito Beach is our favorite beach in the area.
There is a nice stroll across a boardwalk to get to the beach. If you feel energetic you can take a nice long walk on the beach (south) and you will get to the Smiths Lake sandbar.
There are great waves for body surfing but please beware of the rips if you go for a swim.
The cliff on the northern side of the beach is really fascinating, hop over the rocks and check it out.

2) The other reason for the cache is to act as a trading spot for toy cars. The geokid has taken a long hard look at his collection and chose 10 of his favorite wheels to be parked in the cache.
The idea is that if you take a car out, you will replace it with another. So please come prepared.
It would be great if you can take and post a pic when park a new vehicle in the cache.

The cache has been hidden 2 years ago but we never got around to publishing it. But on a recent visit we checked it and it is in great condition and the cars have survived well in the container.

To commemorate its opening we have parked 3 TB tagged cars in the cache, including a police car that will maintain law and order.

Enjoy!

Please keep a close look on the geokids if you decide to venture all the way up the hill, there are steep cliffs and no barriers.

If you need help with other activities or accommodation in the lakes area please contact the cache owners, we would be pleased to share our experiences.
