Geocache Description:

You're looking for a small container, too
small for a writing instrument, so bring your own.

This cache is in the heart of my family's hometown. It is where my father was born 80 years ago, and where I met my blushing bride, almost 40 years ago.

The Mark Smith family has been recognized as the "Most Siblings on Government Pension" in the Guinness Book Of World Records, 2007 edition.

Consisting of 8 living children, each over the age of 80, they were recognized by Guinness Book and national television news agencies as the most and oldest cumulative siblings in the USA. Only a family in Germany had them beat as their children, also 8 in total, were just a few years older.

This cache commemorates the achievement of these remaining 8 brothers & sisters of the 14 original children of Mark & Daisy Smith. Each of the "kids" were born only feet away from this cache, literally.

The cache is located in Shelly park, right next door to Lion's Park where the regional tractor-pull competitions take place. Don't drive too fast or you'll miss it. There is a reason "Welcome To Glenford" is printed on both sides of the same sign.

Do not enter the park from the school property.
Enter the park at N 39.8884 W 82.3165 and park next to the shelterhouse.
It is easier & closer this way anyway.

Congrats to KELINORE for FTF on 06/20/09
