Historic Location of Horse Meadows Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

WildMountainMama: ARCHIVING.
Time for this spot to be given to another cacher with a little more time on their hands.
Beings as my sons due date is in 3 days, I won't be making the journey to maintain this cache, and therefore I believe someone else should be able to use this location. Thanks to everyone who found this cache before it went mysteriously missing! I had a great time placing it and look forward to visiting it again someday!
Happy caching, everyone!!! :}

Geocache Description:

A small cache along the trail that leads to San Gorgonio, placed well before the Wilderness Boundary at a historic location which was once an equestrian camp known as Horse Meadows.

You should begin your trek at the South Fork Trailhead.
There will be a small sign attatched to the Trailhead sign that reads "Horse Meadows Historic Site 1 Mile" and this is where you are headed.

I haven't been able to locate anything in reference to the Historic site of Horse Meadows, therefore, my usually historic footnote shall be missing from this cache description until further in-depth research can be done.

We do know that this place was a great equestrian camp at some time in the past, and that is why the cache has been placed here. In dedication of the history of the area.

As you walk S along the trail, in about 1 mile (around .8) you should begin to see signs of Horse Meadow; (Cabins are visible from the trail). As you reach the edge meadow, on your left there will be a large stump of one tree that split into two; and in the center of the split lies the cache.

Cache is a glasses-case that contains log-sheet and pen along with various swag. (Sorry, I would've added something specific for FTF, but I couldn't fit anything else in the thing! :D)

•Congratulations to MemoryCarver, Brianna Keifer, BikerDude and JustDaisy on FTF!•
