Geocache Description:

The second Monthly C.A.G.E (Capital Area Geocachers Event) will again be held at Hawk Island Park in Lansing from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.

We didn't reserve a shelter for the first event, and have (at the moment) decided to stick with the plan for this event as well. The event coordinates are for the smallest of the shelters in the park. If this one is not available when we arrive we will stake claim to an open area in one of the other shelters as we did for the first one in June, so please look for us at the other two shelters. We will have some type of MiGO sign or banner wherever we are able to get some space.

This event will be the second monthly meet and greet event in the Lansing area. The C.A.G.E. Team is planning on holding these events on the third Tuesday of each month.

The C.A.G.E. Team is currently made up of thevidas, Team Goldfinch, Cruzcontrol82, and The Allen Cachers. Other geocachers or caching teams who would like to join The C.A.G.E. Team are welcome! Just contact any of us.

For a long time now there have been a lot of discussions, both in and out of MiGO circles, regarding a monthly meet and greet event in the Lansing area, which has a large geocaching community, but is a little too far from either Grand Rapids or Detroit for most of us to attend their monthly meet and greet events on weeknights. All of these conversations and forum posts have eventually led to this monthly event.

As with the first event in June, this month's event will just be a simple meet and greet where we can all get together and hang out. There is no need for anyone to bring anything with them, but if you want to bring some food, either for yourselves or to share, please feel free. Many thanks to The Allen Cachers who brought a cooler full of pop-cicle treats, SludgeShoveler who brought cookies and thevidas for bringing a cake to celebrate the first event.
Please also feel free to bring TBs or coins to pass along or to be discovered.

As we get a few of these events under our belt and get a feel for what Lansing area cachers are looking for in a monthly event, we will try to adapt. All ideas are welcome.

NOTE: There is only a fee to enter this park on weekends and holidays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. So, there should not be any fee to enter the park for the event (which is on a Tuesday).
